Dan's original photograph is printed on archival, translucent vellum varnished to enhance the transparency. 24K gold or white gold leaf is carefully applied to the back of the vellum, making the tiny print glow with the characteristic color each precious metal. Burkholder then lowers the finished gold leaf print into the metal mount and affixes the glass covering over the print resulting in a beautiful handmade treasure!
